At the foot of Mount Pelee in Martinique lies a distillery founded in 1845. This distillery is the headquarters of Rhum JM. The distillery is surrounded by nature which has a positive influence on the environment. Among other things, the volcanic subsoil of the land allows high quality sugar cane to be grown on the island. The tropical climate provides plenty of sunshine and heavy rains that ensure that the sugar cane grows optimally. Finally, the water that comes from the Roches River is hugely important, this water is naturally purified by the volcanic subsoil and contains many rich minerals.
The distillery is equipped with two copper column boilers. There is also a team of specialists who self-roast the barrels on which the rum lays down to the desired level.
Because of all these attributes together, Rhum JM is able to make the most flavorful Rhum Agricole.
