Togouchi

Togouchi

Amidst the green hills and dense forests of Hiroshima, where misty mornings often envelop the landscape in an almost mystical silence, a whisky matures that has embarked on a remarkable journey: Togouchi. The story of this whisky begins in Japan, as Togouchi is one of the few 100% Japanese blended whiskies. While the whisky is made in the same distillery as SAKURAO, different stills are used for Togouchi.

Togouchi finds its soul in a 361-meter-long old railway tunnel, hidden deep in the mountains. There, in the constant coolness and familiarity, the casks mature in an environment that feels almost timeless. The silence is broken only by the gentle drip of water and the cracking of wood, which slowly imparts its secrets to the whisky.

The result is a harmonious marriage of cultures: the robust, rich influences of Scotland and Canada, rounded out and enhanced by the Japanese art of balance and subtlety. Togouchi is therefore not just a whisky, but a story of travel, encounters and tranquility – bottled in an elegant bottle that conveys the silence of the tunnel and the mysticism of the mountains.
