DAFTMILL

DAFTMILL

Daftmill is a family distillery founded in 2003 by Francis and Ian Cuthbert. The Cuthbert brothers have been cultivating the farmland for decades and decided in 2003 to make beautiful whiskey from the grain. A real grain-to-bottle distillery. The distillery is located in the Lowlands. The brothers do this completely in their own way and that means everything they do is with a reason and with attention to detail. In addition to growing grain, the brothers grow many other crops, so the distillery cannot be manned every day. Distillation takes place in mid-summer and winter, and the rest of the year the brothers take care of cultivating their farmland and optimizing grain production.

The limited quantities of grain that can be harvested ensure a select number of barrels that can be filled each year. On average, 100 barrels are filled with new make spirit every year. This results in only 1 to 2 whisky releases per year. The first batch that we were allowed to import is the DAFTMILL 2010 Winter Release of which only 6550 were made for the worldwide market. Earlier I mentioned that they work out everything in detail, which is once again evident from this release. Curious about these details? Then click on the product below.
