Berry Bros & Rudd is England's oldest independent bottler, having been around since 1698. The company has become known for the quality wines and Single Cask whisky’s they select.
At the foot of Ben Rinnes hill stands this beautiful distillery. This Speyside distillery was founded in 1826. To this day, the distillery has only launched one whisky under its own name, which makes it all the more difficult to put a finger on its characteristic. One particular detail about the distillery is that its two wash-stills are almost twice the size of the distillery's two spirit-stills.
This 18-year-old Single Malt Single Cask has been aged on Hogshead ex-bourbon casks. A total of 304 bottles were filled at a cask strength of 50.2% alcohol.
On the nose apple and citrus. On the palette leather, honey wood and citrus. The finish is long with notes of tobacco and honey.
Neat.
