Berry Bros & Rudd is England's oldest independent bottler, having been around since 1698. The company has become known for the quality wines and Single Cask whisky’s they select.
This distillery is located in the Speyside region. Dailuaine's own bottlings are limited and it is widely thought amongst whisky lovers that most of the whisky produced by this distillery ends up in a Johnnie Walker product. This Single Cask bottling has matured for more than 10 years and its finish in Oloroso casks gives a thicker texture to this whisky. The Berry Bros & Rudd Dailuaine Oloros 2012 was made for the Chinese New Year, in which 2023 turns into 2024. This year is the year of the dragon and this whisky was made in honour of the this mythical creature. Only 493 bottles were bottled from this Single Cask at a cask strength of 55.3% alcohol.
On the nose grassy, dried fruit and dark spices. On the palette full-bodied, blueberries and dates. The finish is spicy and thick.
Neat.
