Yamazakura

Sasanokawa Shuzo is a distillery founded in 1765, located in Koriyama on the main island of Honshu.

Primarily engaged in traditional Japanese spirits such as sake and shochu, the company has been producing "Ji-Whisky" since 1946, a term encompassing all Japanese whiskeys produced by specialists in traditional Japanese spirits sometimes engaged in production of whisky, ranging from 100% Japanese production to cooperation with foreign distilleries.

Since the establishment of the Asaka Distillery in 2015, Sasanokawa has been committed to producing whiskeys that are distilled, aged and blended in Japan, the best example which of a true Japanese product is the first Single Malt released by the company: Yamazakura The First single malt. This whisky was released in 2020.
